Why you should love being a tall girl

I am compelled to give reasons why you should love being a tall girl. It is sad to see another tall girl call herself ugly only because she is tall. I mean sure, being above average height has its disadvantages, but so does being short. Do you hear short girls call themselves ugly just because of their height? NO!

So instead of insulting yourself, be proud of your height. You need to learn to love the skin you’re in girls! I’ve decided to help and give you a list of positive words that are typically used to describe tall women in general:

  • statuesque
  • glamorous
  • goddess
  • elegant
  • stunning

There’s five nice words for you. Write them down and keep them near you.

If you’re still not convinced and want to do a comparison of tall vs. short, I’ll go ahead and list common words used to describe the height challenged:

  • frail
  • demure
  • cute
  • delicate
  • petite

Can you tell the difference? This is the way I like to think of it (no offense to my short friends) – Which sounds more like a rabbit? Do you want people to think of rabbits when they think of you?

I don’t want to start a tall girl vs. short girl war. One is not better than the other. I just believe that it is important to be proud and own yourself no matter what your size. Never let society or anyone else dictate your beauty. Our voices are being heard and things are turning around for us. There are a number of other blogs and tall girl stores being created all the time. All of them positive.  We are tall women, hear us roar!

  1. I am not overly tall, 5′ 6″ but for my petite sized family, I am tall (ok, we can say goddess) for a woman. I think it’s important for women to see the beauty in themselves. It’s hard for women to wish for what they cant have, I admit I wish my hair was not naturally curly/frizzy but our differences is what make us beautiful. Stopping by from SITS!

    • Hi Tanya! I noticed a lot of the younger tall girls struggle with their height and it’s heartbreaking. I agree that it is our differences that make us beautiful. It just takes some people more time to accept than others. I hereby induct you into my tall girl hall of fame, goddess :). Thanks for visiting!

  2. I don’t mind being tall (5’8″). It just sucks having to special order pants that actually fit! :)

  3. I always hated my height growing up but now that I am older I wish I was more confident about it. It was weird for me to be asked out by short guys (most of the time they were much shorter too) but I have seen plenty of couples with the girl taller than the guy…its still weird for me…I am married and my husband is about a 1/2 inch shorter than me, lol. As for the list, I think I like the tall words better than the short. I hate to think of myself as frail and cute or delicate regardless of my height. I am glamorous and stunning…and sexy! Even though I think I am sort of chunky I get told all the time that I could be a model, its funny. I have never thought so but now I wish I would have at least tried it out.

    • I’m starting to see plenty of couples where she is taller than him so it isn’t as odd as it used to be. At least I don’t think so. Do you ever wear heels?

  4. You haven’t reached tall until your 6’0. It is better to realize that there is a lot of support for tall girls.
